Piping Engineer – Oil and Gas Projects
Location
Ras Laffan Industrial Area, Qatar
Office-based, 5 days per week
Contract Type
Long-term contract

An international energy operator is seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to join its Projects Engineering Support function. This is a technically engaging role working on large-scale oil and gas facilities, offering exposure to complex project interfaces and multi-disciplinary delivery environments.
You will play a key role in ensuring piping and valve engineering activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with recognised industry standards throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver piping and valve engineering activities in compliance with regulatory, project, and engineering requirements
- Resolve technical issues during design and execution phases, escalating where required
- Support project execution teams with engineering input and coordination
- Contribute to the development and update of engineering procedures and project documentation
- Review and support engineering work performed by contractors and third‑party service providers
- Ensure piping design, specification, and procurement activities align with approved project philosophies
- Provide technical guidance during FEED, detailed engineering, and construction phases
- Support multi-disciplinary coordination and contribute specialist input where required
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and delivery of engineering activities to meet project milestones
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Promote safe working practices across all project phases
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 4 years of experience in piping engineering within the oil and gas industry
- At least 3 years of experience supporting project execution or project management teams
- Experience working with EPC contractors and multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of piping and valve engineering principles and industry codes
- Ability to manage technical interfaces across internal and external stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Clear and professional written and spoken English
- Proficient with standard engineering design and analysis tools
- Able to work effectively in a structured, process-driven project environment
