Overview
We are seeking a Senior Telecoms Engineer to provide specialised technical expertise across IT and telecommunications systems for a major industrial project. This senior role supports project delivery, operational readiness, and infrastructure management, ensuring that systems are reliable, secure, and compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and control telecom system hardware and software across local and wide area networks, including on-premises and cloud-based environments

• Provide technical guidance and instruction to less experienced colleagues to ensure correct operational procedures are followed

• Configure tools to automate provisioning, testing, deployment, and monitoring of telecom infrastructure

• Contribute to planning and implementing telecom system installation, maintenance, and agreed infrastructure changes, utilising appropriate tools and test equipment

• Assist in producing outline telecom system designs and specifications, covering objectives, scope, features, reliability, resilience, security, capacity, traffic volumes, implementation strategies, and alternative solutions

• Take responsibility for all stages of the telecom system lifecycle, including investigation, analysis, design, construction, testing, maintenance, upgrades, and migration of communication systems

• Define, document, and safely execute small-scale projects or sub-projects, actively participating in all phases of project delivery

• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, escalating as necessary

• Diagnose and prioritise incidents according to agreed procedures, investigating causes and implementing resolutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a relevant discipline

Experience and Knowledge

• Minimum 6 years of IT or telecoms experience, ideally in the oil & gas, energy, or industrial sector

• Competent in core IT and telecom tools, applications, and techniques

• Knowledge of relevant national and international IT/telecom standards

• Demonstrated experience in project management and IT support environments
