As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for mechanical engineering services including complete design assistance, inspections, determination of HVAC loads, pump sizing/selection, equipment selection, duct sizing and routing, interior plumbing design and fire protection systems. You will work with a team of technicians, engineers, drafters, and surveyors to ensure customer satisfaction and timely project completion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Provide mechanical design service, including determination of HVAC loads, equipment selection, duct sizing and routing, interior plumbing design, and exterior plumbing design.
- Perform all aspects of engineering analysis and design for projects from concept stages through final design and construction management, including knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards.
- Review and analyze preliminary and interim project plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy.
- Oversee development of new construction, renovation and improvement projects for real property facilities, including monitoring Host Nation funded projects.
- Interpret methods and approaches in developing project calculations, layouts, drawings and specifications that support project objectives and standards.
- Monitor all project phases with appropriate managers and staff, maintaining current engineering data for assigned projects.
- Coordinate projects with AFCENT TSG and other disciplines and U.S. Government entities to verify safety, constructability, operability, maintainability and other considerations.
- Verify construction for design compliance and assist with resolution of differences between U.S. and Host Nation building codes.
- Use computer software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, GIS and other engineering calculation software to solve engineering problems.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4 years of experience providing designs and preparing drawings using AutoCAD 2012 or later.
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer preferred.
- Must be capable of traveling between ADAB TSG and AUAB TSG sites up to 4 times per year (4 working days, two travel days).
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer (preferred).
- Solid technical background with good organizational skills, attention to detail, quality control, client interaction and representation.
- Strong communication skills, excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with engineering team members and manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
