Apache Mechanical Technician (Avionics)
Boeing Global Service is seeking an Apache Mechanical Technician (Avionics) to join the AH-64E Qatar Air Force Maintenance Augmentation Team (MAT) at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.
Position Responsibilities- Perform maintenance on the AH-64E electrical/avionics/armament/fire control/radar/visionics/ASE systems and components using QAF-specific technical manuals.
- Diagnose and repair aircraft systems and components malfunctions, including solid state and transistorized devices, according to technical manuals, directives and safety procedures.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance actions, authorized modifications and alignments of AH-64E weapons components, fire control/radar units, sighting elements/visionics, ASE, electronic and mechanical devices, and instruments.
- Use common measuring tools, precision measuring tools and alignment fixtures.
- Handle AH-64E aircraft am munitions, perform weapon system loading/unloading, arming and de-arming, and weapon subsystems configuration changes within the scope of this SOW.
- Perform aircraft systems operational checks.
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft systems test sets and diagnostic equipment.
- Assist the QAF in requisition and maintenance of shop and bench stock items for repair of AH-64E armament, ASE, electrical, avionics, instrument, fire control, radar and visionic systems.
- Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
- Diagnose and solve problems in aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required.
- Operate and maintain tools, special tools, AGSE and PGSE.
- Prepare aircraft maintenance forms and records.
- Provide OJT, coaching, and mentorship to QAF personnel in the use of all applicable technical publications, tools, test equipment, AGSE, PGSE, and special equipment.
- Coordinate training and work under general direction.
- Travel on short notice; both domestically and internationally; 100% onsite at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.
- 5+ years of experience with the AH/64 D/E aircraft Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/ASE Technician.
- 3+ years of experience with Unit Level Logistics System-Aviaion (ULLS-A(E)) or a similar aviation maintenance management system.
- Successfully completed and be qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government armed forces aircraft avionics/armament/fire control/ASE maintenance course or civilian equivalent training.
- Contractor factory training or other equivalent training by industry reviewed and approved by the PCO or designated representative and/or the GFR as substitute.
- 3+ years experience with ULLS-A(E) or a similar aviation maintenance management system.
- Army Service School Instructor or civilian equivalent instructing experience for aircraft Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/ASE Technicians.
- Prior experience or qualified in another aviation maintenance field.
- Prior experience working in the Southwest Asia/desert region.
1st shift.
