The Hotel Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations of the property to maintain high standards in the most cost-effective manner. The position is responsible to oversee and coordinate with workers to properly maintain the continuity of operations in a safely manner.
Job Responsibilities 1Oversee the maintenance team, assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operation.
Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules for the hotel's infrastructure, including guest rooms, public areas, mechanical systems, and equipment.
Coordinate and perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, such as equipment failures, leaks, and power outages, to minimize disruptions and ensure guest safety and comfort.
Liaise with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Assist in the development and management of the maintenance budget, tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards in all maintenance activities, conducting regular inspections and audits to uphold standards.
Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
Provide training and ongoing development opportunities for maintenance staff, ensuring they have the skills and Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inspection reports, to track maintenance history and facilitate future planning.
Job Knowledge & SkillsProficiency in various maintenance areas such as HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, enabling effective troubleshooting and repairs.
Ability to lead and motivate a maintenance team, delegate tasks, and foster a positive work environment to achieve operational excellence.
Aptitude for identifying and resolving maintenance issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards to ensure compliance and uphold safety protocols.
Effective communication skills to liaise with staff, management, and external vendors, facilitating smooth coordination and collaboration in maintenance activities.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
