As a Long Haul Truck Driver you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across long distances typically between cities or even countries You will operate heavy-duty trucks and follow transportation regulations and safety procedures to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods This position requires a valid commercial drivers license CDL and experience in driving large trucks You should also have a clean driving record and excellent time-management skills
Responsibilities- Transport goods and materials over long distances following established routes and schedules
- Operate heavy-duty trucks including semi-trailers flatbeds and tankers
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues before and after trips
- Report any malfunctions or damages to the truck to the appropriate personnel
- Follow all traffic laws regulations and company policies while on the road
- Adhere to safety procedures to ensure the safe delivery of goods
- Maintain accurate logbooks of driving activities including routes fuel consumption and rest periods
- Communicate with dispatchers or logistics coordinators to update on delivery status or any issues that may arise during transport
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment or tools
- Keep track of inventory for each delivery to ensure accuracy
- Valid commercial drivers license CDL
- Minimum of 2 years experience in long haul truck driving
- Clean driving record with no recent traffic violations
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy items
- Excellent time-management skills
- Familiarity with GPS devices
- Knowledge of transportation regulations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
