Valve Technician

Responsibilities

• Carry out dismantling, inspection, servicing and reassembly of a wide range of valves including:

  • Butterfly Valves (Block 20)

  • Globe Valves (Block 20 / ST21 / ST22)

  • Gate Valves (Block 20 / ST21 / ST22)

• Inspect internal components such as seats, discs, stems, seals, packing and body condition.

• Perform valve lapping, grinding, seal replacement, packing adjustment and reconditioning.

• Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests as per project or OEM requirements.

• Verify valve stroke movement and operational smoothness after assembly.

• Ensure proper installation and alignment when fitting valves back into the system.

• Read and understand P&IDs, isometric drawings, datasheets and OEM manuals.

• Assist in troubleshooting valve leaks, seat damage, corrosion, stuck movement and mechanical faults.

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Trade.

• Minimum 35 years of experience in valve maintenance and repair.

• Hands‑on experience with:

  • Butterfly Valves

  • Globe Valves (ST21 ST22)

  • Gate Valves (Block 20 ST Series)

• Experience in oil & gas refinery, petrochemical or heavy industry preferred.
