Welding Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement welding processes and procedures tailored to specific projects and material requirements
• Carry out inspections and audits of welding activities to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASME, API, AWS, and company specifications
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to maintenance field and production teams and other stakeholders as needed, addressing welding-related issues and suggesting solutions to improve processes
• Work closely with other functions and various stakeholders—including Maintenance Field, Engineering, Projects Management, Fabrication—to ensure seamless integration of welding activities into broader project plans
• Develop and deliver training programs related to welding techniques, safety practices, and equipment use to enhance team competency
• Maintain thorough documentation of welding processes, qualifications, and inspections, generating reports for internal and external audits as required
• Stay updated on emerging welding technologies and techniques, evaluating their applicability to company projects and processes
• Ensure that all welding activities are conducted in adherence to safety regulations and best practices to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Welding Engineering, or a relevant discipline
• Professional certification (e.g., Certified Welding Engineer (CWE), Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)) is preferred
• In-depth knowledge of welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and materials used in the industry
• Familiar with industry standards and regulations governing welding practice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams
