Job PurposeThe Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a hands‑on technical and managerial role responsible for leading and advancing the organization’s technology landscape. Reporting to the CCO the CTO manages all IT technologies and oversees a team of IT infrastructure professionals. The role includes developing and implementing IT standards, policies and procedures as well as the analysis, design, deployment and operational management of IT software and hardware systems.
The CTO is also responsible for ensuring the robustness, reliability and security of the organization’s IT infrastructure.
Internal: Executive Management, Strategic Business Unit Heads, Department Heads
Duties and Responsibilities Operational Management- Oversee all operations of the IT department including IT infrastructure, communication systems (LAN, WAN, email, etc.), databases, backup and recovery and regulatory compliance.
- Manage day‑to‑day activities of the IT team to ensure optimal performance and service delivery.
- Ensure the availability, efficiency and security of IT systems across the organization.
- Develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies, standards and roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead the design, deployment and maintenance of software and hardware systems.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies that enhance operational performance and business capability.
- Ensure the implementation of robust cybersecurity measures and risk mitigation frameworks.
- Oversee data protection, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Conduct periodic assessments to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead, mentor and develop technical staff to build a high‑performing IT team.
- Define team structure, roles and responsibilities to support operations effectively.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement within the IT department.
- Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of IT projects within scope, budget and deadlines.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure service‑level compliance.
- Review and approve technical designs, architecture plans and project documentation.
- Collaborate with business units to understand technology needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Provide expert technical advice to senior management for decision‑making and strategic planning.
