About the RoleSoftnet Lanka is seeking an experienced and strategic IT Infrastructure Director to lead the organization's technology infrastructure and IT operations in Al Wakrah, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, security, availability, and continuous improvement of the company's IT infrastructure. This includes enterprise networks, servers, cloud platforms, data storage, cybersecurity infrastructure, disaster recovery, IT service management, and technology-related projects.
The IT Infrastructure Director will provide both strategic leadership and operational oversight, ensuring that technology infrastructure remains secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with the organization's business objectives. This is a senior leadership position requiring strong technical expertise, business awareness, people-management capabilities, and the ability to work effectively with executive management, internal teams, technology partners, and external vendors.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT infrastructure strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Lead the infrastructure and IT operations teams, including systems, network, cloud, security, and technical support functions.
- Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, routing, switching, and firewalls.
- Manage server, storage, virtualization, backup, and data-center infrastructure.
- Lead the organization's cloud infrastructure strategy and migration initiatives involving platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of critical IT systems.
- Establish and maintain robust backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Oversee infrastructure cybersecurity, access controls, endpoint security, firewalls, monitoring, vulnerability management, and security policies.
- Establish infrastructure standards, procedures, documentation, and operational controls.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity, and service‑level indicators, taking corrective action when required.
- Lead major infrastructure upgrades, technology modernization programs, and IT transformation projects.
- Manage IT infrastructure budgets, procurement, licensing, and technology lifecycle planning.
- Evaluate technology solutions and make recommendations regarding infrastructure investments and modernization.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, telecommunications providers, consultants, and managed‑service partners.
- Negotiate contracts and monitor vendor performance against agreed service‑level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure IT infrastructure complies with applicable organizational policies, regulatory requirements, security standards, and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure‑related policies, standard operating procedures, disaster recovery plans, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Establish performance objectives for infrastructure teams and promote professional development and continuous improvement.
- Lead the response and resolution of major infrastructure incidents and service outages.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and assess their potential value to the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems, networking, cloud, IT operations, or a related technology field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior IT management, infrastructure management, or leadership position.
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-scale IT infrastructure and technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, including LAN/WAN, VPN, VLAN, routing, switching, wireless infrastructure, and firewalls.
