Position: Quality Controller(Shipwright) |

Job Summary

Perform quality inspections, verifications, monitoring, and control of quality control activities associated with blasting / painting activities to ensure adherence to quality standards as outlined in the project specifications, tender documents, work instructions, procedures, and relevant manuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and execute Quality Control Inspection activities specifically for blasting and painting operations, ensuring adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) standards and procedures.
  • Monitor project progress and promptly report any issues or delays to the Supervisor to facilitate timely resolutions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with inspection and test procedures applicable to assigned projects, maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct both in-process and final inspections of painting activities to prevent rework and guarantee quality outcomes.
  • Advise stopping work and initiate immediate rectification measures in instances of direct non‑compliance with quality standards.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, class surveyors, paint representatives and other third‑party inspectors for timely execution of coating inspections.
  • Ensure that all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and quality requirements are strictly followed throughout the operation.
  • Document inspection findings and maintain accurate records of quality control activities to support compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance team capabilities and knowledge regarding quality control standards and practices.
  • Employees should prioritize wellbeing of themselves and their colleagues while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Adhere to all health & safety protocols, participate in wellbeing & wellness programs, and promptly report any concerns regarding the wellbeing of oneself & others in order to foster a culture of best practice.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Nace 1 / Frosio certification
Experience
  • Min 3 years' experience in coating inspection, production supervision & related coating activities.
