Accounting Assistant

AtWork Decatur is seeking an Accounting Assistant Responsible for handling daily accounts payable duties, processing invoices, working with vendors, and maintaining accurate accounting records.

Must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, and follow company policies and procedures.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1– 2 years of Accounts Payable experience preferred
• SAP experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

• Monitor and process vendor invoices
• Enter invoices into SAP and ensure proper account coding and approvals
• Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, invoices, and receipts
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoices and account status
• Verify sales and use tax on invoices
• Assist with month-end accruals
• Follow up on invoice approvals and receiving
• Maintain vendor information and records
• Retrieve invoices from vendor portals
• Scan and file accounting documents
• Assist with audits and other accounting projects as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
