Russell County Substitute Teacher

Responsibilities- Assume duties of the classroom teacher according to lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies.
- Lead instruction by conducting the teacher’s existing lesson plans.
- Instruct students on a variety of classroom topics/courses.
- Build positive relationships with students.
- Assign reasonable tasks and homework.
- Motivate students to learn, encourage participation, and create a conducive learning environment.
- Adapt to various learning styles.
- For long‑term assignments, develop lesson plans, administer tests and assignments, and grade them.
- Provide classroom assistance to the district/school teacher, especially for general or special‑needs students.
- Implement educational programs, activities, and services for students of varying ages.
- Manage classroom and learning environment support.
- Reinforce learning concepts through lesson plans, individually or in small groups.
- Grade homework and tests, and compute results.
- Ensure student safety, supervision, and supervision in out‑of‑classroom settings.
- Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, discipline problems, property theft, and other incidents to supervisor immediately.
- Assist students in transitions and be sensitive to individual needs and differences.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age 18 (23 for high‑school substitute).
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions and establish working relationships with staff.
- Ability to positively relate to a younger generation of students.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs; other physical activities may be required.
