Employment Type: Full Time (26 hours per week, $12.00 per hour)
Schedule: 7:15 am – 3:15 pm or 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Start Date: December 1, 2025 (subject to grant funding)
Job SummaryThe part‑time lead teacher will implement an infant‑to‑3‑year‑old classroom model for a group of children and support the director by planning appropriate activities, collaborating with faculty and administration, engaging families, and modeling evidence‑based practices for early educator observers and students.
Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain children’s files, including progress reports, attendance records, health records, and parent locator sheets.
- Implement policies and procedures that contribute to the care, growth, and development of preschool children.
- Notify the CCAMPIS co‑coordinator of inventory needs and order replacements as necessary.
- Ensure the safety of the children.
- Demonstrate cultural competence and relate across cultural boundaries.
- Maintain compliance with JSU, State Department of Education, and accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with staff on curriculum and best practices.
- Attend monthly faculty/staff meetings, required trainings, and professional development activities.
- Assist in preparing CCAMPIS program reports.
- Read and stay current with child development regulations, publications, and laws.
- Report maintenance and equipment needs to the CCAMPIS co‑coordinator.
- Serve as liaison to families, updating them on center operations and their child.
- Develop and implement the curriculum and design developmentally appropriate activities.
- Communicate with families on center and child updates.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- At least 21 years of age at hire.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by insurance carrier.
- Willingness to work outside normal hours, including nights and/or weekends.
- Availability for travel within Alabama.
- Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment during a crisis.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Experience with developmentally appropriate, play‑based curriculum and assessment.
- Knowledge of NAEYC or Quality Stars standards.
- CPR certification.
