The ideal candidate will provide strong engineering support through process optimization and continuous improvement within the Product Design business unit to meet the quality goals of Arcelor Mittal Calvert.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or any related engineering discipline
• Experience in research, operations, quality assurance, product development and/or manufacturing
• Knowledge of process/product improvement methodologies (such as Six Sigma)
• Experience in failure investigation and root cause analysis in a metallurgical environment
• Proficiency in Statistical Data Analysis
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)

• A Bachelor of Science in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering degree is preferred
• SAP and MES experience
• Query building and SAS data analysis experience

• Experience in the application of Lean Six Sigma to improve product performance and reliability through process redesign

• Metallurgical understanding of the production and processing of flat‑rolled steel products

• Ability to competently handle a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders, work in small and large teams
• Demonstrates strong decision‑making, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Anticipates and adopts innovations in business‑building digital and technology applications
• Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
• Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement
