DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will spearhead electrical maintenance for the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), Ladle Metallurgy Facility (LMF), Degasser, Slab Caster, and supporting auxiliary equipment. He/she will lead training of maintenance electricians and the development of maintenance procedures, while participating in the development of equipment maintenance plans to ensure a safe and reliable and continuous operation.

The Basics:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience leading a team in a steelmaking/melt shop environment
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in steelmaking industry in engineering, management, or similar role
• Strong management skills with the ability to lead a team with minimal supervision
• In depth process control knowledge
• Experience to motivate and drive individuals toward a win-win situation
• Intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Office and SAP

The Extras:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 6+ years of experience in management position in steelmaking industry
• Technical knowledge of electrical equipment to include drives, PLC’s, instruments, motors, starters, switchgears, transformers, electro-mechanical systems, cooling water systems, baghouses, overhead cranes, etc. strongly desired
• Technical & process knowledge of a Melt Shop preferred
