DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The ideal candidate will participate as a member of the Arcelor Mittal NOES Project Team as the Operations Process Engineer for the Slitting and Packaging Line. This candidate will join a project team launching the 600,000+ square foot facility, participate in design reviews, assess equipment quality, assist with the development of commissioning plans, and transition to a critical member of the Operating Team.
As a member of the Operating Team, the ideal candidate will develop and maintain effective technology, lead projects to optimize process and product capabilities, and improve quality, productivity, and cost (yield) within the RCM area of the NOES Mill.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering:
Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Materials - Sufficient experience with flat rolled steel processes
- Knowledge of steel strip properties and applications
- Demonstrated problem solving acumen
- Demonstrated understanding of control systems and instrumentation
- Strong Teamwork and a hands-on working approach.
- Advanced skills in data analysis, Statistics (design of experiments, data analysis and model formulation).
- Leadership (leading group problem solving and influencing peer groups in a positive way).
- Strong work ethic that enables working through obstacles that are common in a green field project
- Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop technical presentations and competently communicate interpersonally and technical papers
- Competency in handling fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, and prioritizing proficiency
- Demonstrates high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Developing and maintaining an effective technical team responsible for slitting and packaging our product
- Leading major improvement projects; improving process and product capabilities, throughput, cost (yield), energy and environmental performance
