Job Title: GEO2 - Geologist 2

Location: Vincent, AL (Onsite)

• 4-year degree in related field or 3-10 years of related experience
• Experience installing groundwater and surface water instrumentation systems around dams, levees, and CCR sites for real-time data collection and performance monitoring
• Instrumentation and maintenance will include inclinometers, water quality equipment (pH, ORP, DO, turbidity, conductivity), portable solar battery charging stations, and cellular and satellite communication systems
• Experience executing field investigations utilizing various drilling methods and resources
• Experience with soil and rock logging, monitoring well construction, groundwater monitoring, and field data reporting
• Providing technical and safety oversight to drilling contractors and consultants

• Typical work week is 4 days, 10 hours each (Monday - Thursday), with some 10-day shifts
• Extensive travel throughout the southeastern United States, mainly Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi
• Agency will provide a vehicle (e.g., Ford F250 4X4 or similar); monthly rental paid by the Agency and reimbursed by Southern Company, with no markup
• Reimbursements will include fuel costs, lodging, and meals related to work travel and overnight stays
