POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mine Engineer is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and cost‑effective mining operations through mine planning, surveying, drill and blast design, project management, and operational support activities. This role develops short- and long‑range mine plans, manages surveying and mapping functions, supports capital and infrastructure projects, and provides technical expertise to optimize resource recovery, productivity, and operational performance. The Mine Engineer works closely with quarry operations, maintenance, environmental, and plant teams to ensure compliance with company standards and all applicable regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

& EXPECTATIONS:

Leadership Promote and champion a culture of safety in all aspects of mining operations by actively participating in safety initiatives, inspections, training, and continuous improvement efforts.

Mine Surveying, Mapping & Drill/Blast Support Manage mine surveying and mapping activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting of mine development, production progress, ore boundaries, infrastructure locations, and material inventories. Maintain and publish up-to-date mine maps and survey records in accordance with company standards. Prepare volumetric, planimetric, and reconciliation reports to support operational planning, inventory management, and performance tracking. Design, survey, and document drill and blast patterns to support safe and efficient production while maintaining accurate electronic records.

Mine Planning & Reconciliation Develop and maintain short‑term mine plans, dig maps, and production schedules that align with operational objectives and longer‑term planning strategies. Coordinate with mine planning, geology, and operations teams to ensure alignment between short-, mid-, and long‑term mine plans. Support material movement reconciliation, waste management planning, and performance analysis to optimize resource recovery and operational efficiency.

Technical Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with operations, geology, quality, and laboratory teams to ensure mine plans are aligned with orebody characteristics, production requirements, quality objectives, and safety standards. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to support daily operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

Operations Support & Leadership Serve as a technical resource for mining operations by supporting supervisors and production teams in achieving safety, production, and quality objectives. Provide functional leadership and operational direction to employees and contractors when designated by site management.

Mine Infrastructure & Engineering Support Provide engineering support for mine infrastructure systems, including haul roads, dewatering, communications, utilities, and other operational assets. Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure infrastructure reliability, regulatory compliance, and effective long‑term planning.
