Summary:
The Clinical Director will serve as the link to the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles (ABPP) and/or Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH). The Clinical Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of all clinical services provided in the facility. This position ensures that services are delivered with fidelity to the program's clinical design, contractual mandates, state/federal statutes and regulations, and applicable licensing and credentialing requirements.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall operation of the program, staff oversight, and coordination with ABPP PREP Center personnel.
- Plans, organizes, and directs the program in a manner consistent with ABPP and ADMH standards.
- Responsible for the quality of clinical care (OP, IOP, Co-Occurring) and appropriateness of interventions.
- Seeks to establish and maintain relationships with outside referral sources, such as in-patient mental health facilities or detox facilities.
- Maintains accurate clinical documentation including intake summaries, group notes, discharge summaries, treatment plans and updates. Updates therapeutic logs in a timely manner. Enters pertinent information into GEOtrack.
- Identifies problem areas that may impact participants' ability to successfully complete treatment. Guides participants to develop strategies to overcome obstacles to success completion of treatment.
- May advise ABPP of participants' progress regularly or at completion of treatment.
- Ensures that participants' records are accurately completed in a timely manner.
- May maintain a specific case file for every program participant. Maintains knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
- Maintains a collegial relationship with other substance abuse professionals, programs, and associations.
- Participates in related training.
- Coordinates program using principles of the "What Works" system. Schedules intakes, and group and individual sessions.
- Discusses specific cases with psychiatric and treatment personnel to determine if they are appropriate for treatment. May assist with the assignment of cases.

Minimum Requirements
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Health and Human Services and two years as an administrator or supervisor preferably within a correctional or residential program and possess one of the following certifications:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Ability to understand a variety of models including cognitive behavioral therapy, theories of addiction and dynamics related to substance use and other criminogenic risk factors.
- Ability to know and comply with program documentation requirements, applicable ethical and professional standards of conduct.
