• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and safety standards.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle surgical instruments safely.

• Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or equivalent.
• Completion of a sterile processing technician training program or equivalent experience in sterile processing.
• Experience working in a healthcare or manufacturing environment related to sterile processing.
• Familiarity with non‑durable goods manufacturing processes related to medical or surgical supplies.
• Strong organizational skills and experience with inventory management systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours in a PRN (as‑needed) capacity.

• Sterilize, clean, and prepare surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage, ensuring all items meet quality standards before distribution.
• Assemble surgical instrument trays and sets tailored to specific procedures, maintaining accurate inventory and documentation.
• Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, monitoring cycles and maintaining equipment logs.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies during procedures.

The required skills such as knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control are applied daily to ensure all surgical instruments are safe and sterile for use, directly impacting patient safety.
