The Phlebotomy Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood samples from patients. This position is essential for accurate diagnostic testing, which directly impacts patient care and treatment plans. The technician will work closely with healthcare professionals to maintain high standards of patient safety and comfort during the blood collection process.

Additionally, they will be responsible for properly labeling and handling specimens to prevent contamination and ensure reliable results. Ultimately, the Phlebotomy Technician contributes to the overall efficiency of the medical facility and the well‑being of patients.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program.
  • Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician from a recognized organization.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Responsibilities
  • Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages, ensuring a high level of comfort and care.
  • Accurately label and process blood samples for laboratory analysis, adhering to strict protocols to maintain specimen integrity.
