Phased N Research is seeking a talented IT / Dev Ops Specialist to support our growing Radar Modeling & Simulation Army programs
. This mid‑to senior‑level role will contribute to mission‑critical radar modeling, simulation development, and advanced software engineering efforts in support of U.S. Army customers.
The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated technical professional with strong systems, networking, and Dev Ops experience in secure government or large‑scale commercial environments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Network & Infrastructure ManagementDesign, build, implement, and maintain network systems in accordance with organizational and security standards
Manage LAN systems, including testing, installation, configuration, and ongoing support
Troubleshoot network performance issues and implement capacity planning solutions
Utilize software and hardware diagnostic tools to identify and resolve complex network issues
Analyze network traffic and optimize overall system performance
Administer Linux operating systems (Rocky Linux, Red Hat, Ubuntu) and Windows environments
Manage Podman and Docker containers and containerized applications
Maintain user accounts, access controls, and security policies using Active Directory
Manage and support specialized hardware including GPUs, NPUs, and NVIDIA NICs
Oversee Git Lab Enterprise administration, including repository management and CI/CD pipelines
Provide technical guidance and operational support for information systems
Support software development teams with infrastructure, tooling, and automation needs
Implement, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops workflows
Conduct quality assurance reviews and evaluations of software products
Communicate clearly and professionally during system installations and technical support activities
Participate in briefings, design reviews, program reviews, and technical interchange meetings
Collaborate with Program Management, Division Leadership, and government personnel
Compile and maintain records and reports related to network operations and system maintenance
High school diploma with 6+ years of relevant technical experience in government or large commercial environments OR
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (may substitute for experience)
Industry certifications such as MCSE, MCITP, or equivalent preferred
Security+ certification (current and up to date) required
Linux system administration (Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS)
Container technologies:
Podman, DockerGit Lab Enterprise administration and CI/CD pipeline management
Active Directory and Windows Server administration
Network protocols and services: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, static and dynamic routing
Advanced networking concepts: RDMA/RoCE, RDMA/Infini Band, Ethernet switching
Network equipment configuration and management (routers, switches, firewalls)
Remote access and management tools (SSH, PuTTY, Remote Desktop)
Specialized hardware support (GPUs, NPUs, NVIDIA NICs)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently
High attention to detail with a quality‑focused mindset
Adaptable, flexible, and quick to learn new technologies
U.S. Citizenship required
Active Secret security clearance required
Position may require periodic travel to customer sites
Physical requirements may include occasional heavy lifting
Candidate must demonstrate readiness to assume new projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
