We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Labor and Employment Partner to join our well-established, highly respected legal team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role will act as the Practice Group Lead for the Labor and Employment team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in advising and representing clients on a broad range of labor and employment matters, including but not limited to litigation, compliance, workplace policies, discrimination claims, and union negotiations. The successful candidate will also contribute to business development efforts and help expand the firm's labor and employment practice.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert legal counsel on all aspects of labor and employment law, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour issues, and employee benefits.
- Represent clients in state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
- Develop and implement strategies for defending employers in employment-related claims and disputes.
- Advise clients on compliance with employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and Title VII.
- Conduct internal investigations and workplace audits to assess legal risks and recommend policy improvements.
- Negotiate and draft employment contracts, severance agreements, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Lead and mentor associates, fostering a collaborative and high-performing legal team.
- Support and participate in the firm’s business development efforts, including client engagement, networking, and thought leadership.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 10 years of labor and employment experience, including labor relations and employment litigation experience is required.
- Should be licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and be in good standing.
- Experience with administrative practice before local, state, and federal agencies; and/or advice and counseling is required.
- Experience in traditional labor matters, including labor arbitrations, negotiations, and unfair labor practice charges, and in transactional matters involving labor and employment issues is a plus.
