DeSHAZO is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to support the safety, health, and environmental compliance of our manufacturing operations and field service teams across Alabama. This role provides on-site guidance, oversight, and hands‑on support to ensure that employees, subcontractors, and facilities maintain full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and ADEM requirements.
The Safety Manager will report directly to the Safety Director and partner closely with plant managers, service managers, and field supervisors. Success in this role requires adaptability to both shop environments and active job sites, balancing proactive safety coaching with responsive problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine safety inspections and compliance audits at manufacturing facilities and field service job sites
- Develop safety teams and drive safety culture.
- Assist in risk assessments for equipment, lifting operations.
- Support fleet safety and driver compliance, including inspections and corrective actions.
- Perform environmental inspections, including waste storage, stormwater, and ADEM compliance.
- Investigate incidents, lead root cause analysis, and track corrective actions.
- Deliver training sessions and toolbox talks on hazard awareness, fall protection, LOTO, and PPE.
- Review JSAs, work instructions, and SOPs for accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as a liaison between manufacturing leadership and service management on safety priorities.
- Provide coaching and guidance to employees and supervisors to reinforce safe work behaviors.
- Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, and reporting requirements.
- 2+ years of experience in EHS, preferably with both manufacturing and field service operations.
- OSHA 30 and OSHA 10
- Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926 standards.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance (ADEM or other state regulations).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access credentials required by customer or regulatory authorities (e.g., TWIC, eRailSafe, DISA, or other background/safety clearances).
- Standard Monday‑Friday schedule, with occasional after‑hours or weekend work as required for safety and compliance purposes.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
- Degree in safety, Environmental Science, or related field.

- Safety certifications (CHST, STS, ASP, CSP).
- Experience with overhead cranes, lifts, and industrial installations.
- Prior experience providing safety training in both shop and field settings
- Up to 50% (primarily between Alabama manufacturing sites and service field locations)
- The ability to move around industrial facilities, climb stairs and ladders, and access confined or elevated spaces (e.g., scaffolds, rooftops, or manlifts).
- Prolonged periods of walking or standing during site visits and inspections (up to 8‑10 hours/day, occasionally).
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25‑35 lbs. occasionally (e.g., safety equipment, documentation binders, training materials).
- Will be exposed to a variety of field environments, including extreme heat or cold, heights, loud noise, dust, chemicals, and mechanical hazards (appropriate PPE will be required).
- May be required to work some weekends or Holidays.
- Subject to working frequently at considerable heights.
