Ameri Bolt is looking for the right candidate to join our team in Sycamore, AL. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping of outgoing goods from the manufacturing facility. This role ensures products are properly labeled, documented, and shipped on time according to customer requirements and company standards.
- Inspect all goods to be shipped against packing slips to ensure materials or parts are shipped accurately.
- Package parts and products securely, ensuring protection during transit and compliance with customer or carrier requirements.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and order details against shipping documents.
- Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure quality, accuracy, and presentation.
- Maintain clean and organized shipping areas and supplies.
- Assist in physical inventory counts and stock movement when required.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, shipping regulations, and hazardous material handling (if applicable).
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
- Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 0-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with shipping software, logistics platforms, and ERP systems (e.g., UPS World Ship, Fed Ex Ship Manager, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping instructions, packing lists, and part numbers.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and bending throughout the shift.
- Manual handling of boxes, pallets, and packing materials.
- Use of pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures.
- Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols strictly.
- Shipping/receiving area in a manufacturing or warehouse facility.
- Exposure to forklifts, loading docks, and packaging equipment.
- Fast-paced environment with daily deadlines and shipping cutoffs.
- Required use of PPE as needed (steel-toe boots, gloves, safety vest, etc.).
- Noise Level: Moderate to High.
