Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care is looking for caring and experienced Family Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to deliver exceptional patient care in Hazel Green, AL.

Job Summary

As a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care, you will provide excellent medical care to patients of all ages with a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions. You will work with a team of healthcare professionals to diagnose, treat, and educate patients while ensuring the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exemplary customer service to patients, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Provide convenient, friendly patient care to all who come through for health services.
  • Provide leadership and assistance during emergencies, maintaining a comforting and reassuring affect for patients.
  • Work in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment, including long variable hours and continuous contact with others.
  • Perform medical assessment, treatment, management, and follow‑up of clinic patients (primary care, urgent care, occupational health, DOT physicals, workers' compensation).
  • Perform medical procedures (laceration repairs, nail removal, pap tests, injections, splinting, abscess incision & drainage).
  • Establish and monitor a medically appropriate level of care for clinic patients.
  • Oversee, direct, and support on‑site laboratory, x‑rays, injections, and collections for direct‑access services.
  • Maintain clinical core competency.
  • Work with Center Leadership to ensure operations comply with medical policy and professional standards.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and revision of policies affecting medical practice, quality of care, and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in continuing education programs for physicians, nurses, and other personnel.
  • Recommend growth and development opportunities for new or existing services.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and accrediting bodies.
  • Represent the company and clinic at internal and external meetings or events.
  • Provide guidance to other medical staff to ensure quality professional services and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Active state license as an APRN or Physician Assistant.
  • Current board certification (FNP or PA‑C).
  • Current DEA license, or eligibility to obtain upon hire.
  • Current DOT certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Current BLS certification.

Schedule

Full‑time team members work a rotating 36‑40 hour per week schedule with 12‑hour weekday shifts and every‑other weekend. PRN (per diem) members are scheduled on an as‑needed basis.
