Veterinary Assistant

Arlington South Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

The veterinary assistant is the entire team's primary support. Every department relies on their significant role in aiding with a variety of services to provide excellent client and patient care. We’re looking for someone who is positive, dependable, eager to learn, and enjoys working as part of a team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build their skills and grow into a veterinary technician role with hands-on training and support along the way.

What You’ll Do

• Assist the veterinary team with patient care and daily hospital operations
• Restrain and handle dogs and cats safely and compassionately
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized treatment area
• Assist with appointments, treatments, and procedures
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples
• Help with patient cleaning, feeding, and general care
• Provide excellent customer service to our clients and their pets
• Learn new skills and progressively take on additional technician responsibilities

• Someone who genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate toward patients and their families
• Previous veterinary experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right person!
• Someone who is interested in developing a long-term career in veterinary medicine.
