This role supports quality control and production by performing accurate chemical analyses, documenting results in written and electronic systems, and ensuring laboratory equipment remains calibrated, clean, and in good working order. The position requires strong attention to detail, hands-on experience in an analytical or industrial lab, and the ability to work effectively in a rotating shift schedule within a chemical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

+ Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation such as automated titrators, gas chromatographs, spectrophotometers, centrifuges, agitators, chemical balances, and pH meters.

+ Test raw materials, in-process samples, and final products for conformity to specifications using standard operating procedures and established analytical methods.

+ Accurately record and maintain test results for all required analyses in written logs and database or electronic formats, including LIMS when applicable.

+ Calibrate laboratory instruments on a routine basis and maintain complete and accurate quality system records for calibrations and checks.

+ Write clear and concise test reports describing analytical procedures, observations, and results as needed.

+ Clean, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting on analytical and laboratory equipment to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.

+ Collect samples from the production process in an active manufacturing environment while following safety and sampling protocols.

Essential Skills

+ Hands-on experience in an analytical, industrial, or quality-control laboratory environment.

+ Familiarity with gas chromatography, titration, pH measurement, and related analytical techniques.

+ Experience following written testing procedures and maintaining accurate laboratory records in both written and electronic formats.

+ Ability to perform instrument calibration, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting on laboratory instruments.

+ Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple testing tasks and priorities.

+ Experience testing raw materials, production samples, or finished chemical products in a quality-control setting.

+ Knowledge of chemistry principles applicable to analytical testing and quality control.

+ Understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality control (QC) processes in a laboratory or production environment.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on role in a laboratory environment within a chemical manufacturing setting. The position involves frequent use of analytical instruments such as gas chromatographs, automated titrators, spectrophotometers, centrifuges, agitators, chemical balances, and pH meters. The schedule follows a 3-2-3 rotating shift pattern from 4:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., requiring flexibility to work varying days as part of the rotation.

The work includes collecting samples in an active production area, handling chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and following laboratory waste-management and safety practices. The organization emphasizes cross-training across departments and prefers to promote from within, providing opportunities for skill development and career growth in a supportive environment.
