Training Instructor - Trades Apprentice Program - (Full Time)

Lexicon offers a unique combination of capabilities. Our services include construction management, fabrication, erection, mechanical installation, and plant maintenance for heavy industrial, commercial, and roadway projects, as well as a full spectrum of golf course construction and management services.

Position Overview

Lexicon is seeking experienced trades professionals to join our apprenticeship training program as full-time instructors. These roles are vital to developing the next generation of skilled workers in the Structural Ironworker, Welding and Millwright trades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead instructional sessions.
  • Deliver a mix of hands‑on, classroom, and virtual training.
  • Follow established curriculum and standards for workforce development.
  • Teach foundational trade skills, safety practices, and career readiness.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate on curriculum development and training management.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience in construction industry.
  • Minimum of four years of full-time experience in trade instructing (Millwright, Weld, Ironworker).
  • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts and procedures to learners of varying skill levels.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and ability to model safe practices consistently.
  • Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and foster inclusive learning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
  • Relevant trade certifications (e.g., NCCER, AWS) are a plus.
  • Prior teaching, mentoring, or training experience in a formal or informal setting.
  • Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish.
Physical Demands

Must be able to work in a high pressure working environment. Some weekend work and overnight travel is required. Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations, a loud and dusty work environment, and be around high voltage electromagnetic fields. Must be ethical, energetic, and have a passion for training and development. All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
