Position OverviewLexicon is seeking experienced trades professionals to join our apprenticeship training program as part-time instructors. These roles are vital to developing the next generation of skilled workers in the Structural Ironworker, Welding and Millwright trades.
Key Responsibilities- Lead instructional sessions.
- Deliver a mix of hands‑on, classroom, and virtual training.
- Follow established curriculum and standards for workforce development.
- Teach foundational trade skills, safety practices, and career readiness.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate on curriculum development and training management.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience in construction industry
- Minimum of four years of full‑time experience in trade instructing (Millwright, Weld, Ironworker).
- Ability to clearly explain technical concepts and procedures to learners of varying skill levels.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and ability to model safe practices consistently.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and foster inclusive learning.
- Certifications in OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Relevant trade certifications (e.g., NCCER, AWS) are a plus
- Prior teaching, mentoring, or training experience in a formal or informal setting
- Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish
Must be able to work in a high pressure working environment. Some weekend work and overnight travel is required. Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations, a loud and dusty work environment, and be around high voltage electromagnetic fields. Must be ethical, energetic, and have a passion for training and development. All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
