Embark on an exciting journey as a Welder, working under a qualified trade Journeyman to learn how to fuse fabricated components to create robust structural forms. Your learning experience will include assembling vital pieces and practicing safety as the highest priority.

• Assembly and welding applying learned welding techniques.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc welding equipment.
• May assemble parts by bolting.
• May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torch, straightening press, and other hand tools.
• Ability to work overtime and maintain regular, punctual attendance.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be physically capable of performing construction work

• High School Trade preparatory classes
• Mathematics and/or Drafting classes
• Familiarity and exposure to construction

• Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds frequently and climb more than 300 feet.
• Must be able to pull own weight when climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding up to 150 feet.
• Excessive amounts of bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, and pulling weights up to 50 pounds.
• Must tolerate temperature fluctuations, a loud and dusty work environment, and be able to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields.
