Software Development Manager

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead position.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proven history of mentoring and developing software developers.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services sectors is a plus.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and leadership abilities.
• Proven track record of managing agile development teams successfully.
• Experience in guiding technical direction and making architectural choices.
• Familiarity with security, compliance, and risk management practices is advantageous.
• Deep understanding of object‑oriented programming and proficiency in PHP.
• Solid knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, with experience in modern front‑end frameworks (preferably Vue, React, or Angular);
  Vue.js experience is favored.
• Strong grasp of relational databases and SQL, preferably with MySQL/Maria
  
  DB.
• Knowledge of LAMP environments (Linux, Apache, MySQL/Maria
  
  DB, PHP).
• Proficient in version control systems (Git/Git Hub).
• Experience with cloud services such as Azure or AWS is beneficial.
• Experience in maintaining and modernizing legacy software systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a team of developers, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
• Provide technical guidance to eliminate obstacles, sustain progress, and align development efforts with strategic objectives.
• Conduct regular one‑on‑ones, performance assessments, and professional development planning.
• Facilitate effective sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily collaboration sessions.
• Contribute to and help establish the long‑term technical roadmap for our platforms and systems.
• Evaluate and recommend contemporary tools, frameworks, and architectures to keep our organization competitive.
• Ensure systems are scalable, secure, maintainable, and meet business and compliance requirements.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to foster continuous improvement.
• Oversee the comprehensive delivery of software projects, ensuring reliable and high‑quality results.
• Engage in hands‑on development by designing, coding, documenting, and testing high‑quality software.
• Maintain strong technical documentation and support practices for continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
• Conduct and supervise code reviews to ensure consistency, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
• Design and optimize SQL queries, scripts, and database components to enhance system performance and functionality.
• Integrate third‑party and in‑house APIs into existing applications.
