Summary of Position:Spectrum Environmental, Inc., an established firm spanning more than 30 years in business and with offices in Mobile, Alabama;
Birmingham, Alabama; and Nashville, Tennessee. Spectrum is seeking a motivated individual to join our Stormwater team in our Alabaster, Alabama office. The successful candidate should be a great communicator in all aspects and possess characteristics of a servant leader. This full-time position will report to Spectrum’s Stormwater Group Manager and is expected to perform the duties summarized below.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to perform construction stormwater inspections in the North and Central Alabama regional areas.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Experience in stormwater inspection services, erosion control installation and maintenance, construction or environmental science is preferred.
- Self-directed and able to identify properly installed BMPs and communicate verbally and in written form areas where BMP maintenance and/or modification is needed.
- Ability to demonstrate strong technical understanding of general site development and construction methodologies coupled with the desire and ability to work outside.
- Detail oriented with inspections noting site conditions/issues.
- Use of proper PPE and safety equipment.
- Capable of completing inspection within permit and/or client directed time constraints.
- Ability to input inspections from a phone or tablet while on site.
- Additional tasks and duties as assigned.
Work is performed primarily in an outdoor field environment; travel from site to site; exposure to noise, dust, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain.
Conditions –Any offer of employment is subject to the results of a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and review of Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and background check.
Salary –Commensurate with experience.
