CNC Machinist II - Night Shift
Birmingham, AL

Job Summary: Operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate parts. Load parts, cycle the machine, identify malfunctions, maintain production lots, and ensure a safe, organized workspace.
Responsibilities- Perform set‑ups for small and large production runs on turning and machining centers with minimal supervision.
- Indicate vises and load tool changers with proper tooling, converting raw material into finished parts.
- Understand speed and feeds and their relationship to different materials.
- Maintain close tolerances within +/- 0.001.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Understand G‑codes and conversational programming (Fanuc experience a plus).
- Adjust tool offsets on 2‑ and 3‑axis machines, download programs, and perform simple editing.
- Inspect and verify own work; complete First Article Reports accurately.
- Apply shop math (bolt holes, angles, trigonometry).
- Follow all safety rules and procedures; lift up to 45 pounds safely.
- 3–5 years of experience as a CNC machinist.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Proficiency in G‑Code and M‑Code programming.
- Demonstrated skill in drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, and threading while meeting specifications.
- Basic computer operations (clocking in/out).
- Pass a math test (basic math, geometry, trigonometry).
- Stand/walk 95% of the workday.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Twist, reach, and bend frequently.
- Good hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity.
- Depth perception and peripheral vision.
- Hearing ability.
- Stand on hard surfaces up to 12 hours per day.
- Exposure to hot and cold conditions.
