Role& Responsibilities
- Design and build micro component based implantable systems
- Design and build compact optomechanical systems
- Design and build custom surgical or medical equipment
- Develop V&V Protocols and Fixtures
- 2 to 6 years of professional experience in a mechanical design role (Senior candidates are also encouraged to apply)
- Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical principles
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
- Demonstrated fabrication skills – show us what you have built
- Experience with developing optomechanical systems, including precision mechanical design and optical manufacturing
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods and design for manufacturing (DFM)
- CNC and Injection Molding experience (directs hands‑on and/or 3rd party management)
- Fluidics and/or microfluidics circuit design and fabrication
- Microcontrollers & basic board layout
- Simulation and FEA (stress/strain, thermal, and/or flow)
- Experience working with surgical or biological requirements
- Polymer processing techniques
The base salary range for this full‑time position is $115,000 – $180,000 annually. Equity and benefits are additional. Pay is determined by experience and skills.
