Position located at 2201 Kitty Hawk Road, Livermore, CA 94551, Alameda County. Employees work in a climate‑controlled office and may be required to travel, work outdoors, and handle physical demands such as lifting and moving large reports. Under the direction and supervision of a Senior Transportation Engineer, the incumbent will perform a variety of transportation engineering tasks related to the District’s pavement and materials engineering program. The incumbent will serve as a lead worker to assign, schedule, and coordinate the work of Transportation Engineering Technicians in the laboratory. Responsibilities also include conducting laboratory testing, field investigations, plant inspections and certifications, and preparing final reports on test results.
EligibilityEligibility may be determined by your score on the Materials and Research Engineering Associate (Specialist) exam. Candidates who are new to state civil services employment must be on the state examination list to be eligible. Please locate the exam entry instructions here:
