Job Description and DutiesThe Discovery & Enforcement Program is a brand‑new division within DTSC that will evaluate, investigate, and remediate historic and current dry cleaners in vulnerable communities. Responsibilities- Plan and manage a workload consisting of multiple projects with sometimes conflicting deadlines to ensure assignments are completed on time and within budget.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project schedules to facilitate the allocation of resources.
- Prepare estimates of oversight costs for each assigned project and follow up with the Responsible Parties to ensure payment of invoices for billed activities.
- Routinely update and maintain project information on existing sites in the DTSC Enviro Stor database, including uploading major milestone documents to Enviro Stor on a timely basis.
- Maintain site files and databases for internal and external use.
- Communicate internally and externally the status of assignments, recommendations, or issues and prepare clearly written documents.
- Project Management experience.
- Strong work ethic.
- Technical communication skills, verbal and written.
- Fundamental knowledge in soil mechanics, fate and transport of chemicals in soil vapor, soil, groundwater, and/or environmental engineering.
- Competent in basic office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PDF Application and Tools).
- Engineer-in-Training certification/CA Professional Engineer license (preferred).
