Saildrone’s security team is growing! As we expand our customer base and mission portfolio, we face an ever-evolving threat landscape. Our vehicles operate far from home, for months at a time, everywhere from crowded inland waterways to remote nature sanctuaries to contested waters. You will be collaborating with our employees, auditors, and (most importantly!) customers, to ensure Saildrone meets the security needs of their missions and can prove it.

• Analyzing compliance standards and performing gap analyses to determine feasibility and applicability
• Translating security controls into concrete requirements for relevant teams across the company
• Managing the audit process, from auditor selection to interviews to report response
• Continuous monitoring of internal controls to ensure we meet our obligations every day, not just once a year
• Defining compliance strategies that maximize impact and reduce busywork

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as information security, computer science, or accounting; or equivalent experience
• Eight or more years of progressive, applicable experience
• Facility with basic scripting to automate evidence gathering and reporting
• Familiarity with cloud providers and their security models, especially Amazon Web Services
• Previous successful audits for ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, or similarly complex standards
• Excellent written and spoken English, for communicating with internal and external stakeholders

• PCI-DSS QSA, CMMC Certified Assessor, or similar auditor certification
• Building unified controls programs to cover multiple compliance standards
• Previous successful audits for FedRAMP or DoD Cloud SRG

• Regular use of a computer while sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time.
• Travel up to 10%

This position is subject to provisions of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations, which may require individuals who are U.S. citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents, asylees, or refugees, or who have the ability to qualify for an export license.

This position is in Alameda, CA. Our waterfront office offers beautiful views of San Francisco Bay in always sunny Alameda.

All employees are required to provide proof of authorization to work in the U.S. within their first 3 days of work.
