Physician - Interventional Cardiology

Position Overview

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Interventional Cardiologist to join a growing cardiology team in Southern New Mexico. This is a full-time, permanent position designed to expand access to interventional cardiac care and reduce patient transfers for procedures. The incoming physician will have access to a fully equipped cardiac cath lab and a supportive clinical team.

  Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm, Friday 8am–3pm
• Cath Lab Access:
  Yes – procedures begin at 6:30am, followed by clinic starting at 10am
• Clinic Volume: 20–25 patients/day preferred
• Procedures Performed:
  • Coronary angioplasty and stent placement
  • Right and left heart catheterization
  • Diagnostic coronary angiography
  • Pacemaker and AICD insertions, generator changes, lead revisions
  • Loop recorder insertions/removals
  • Stress test and echocardiogram readings
• Annual Cath/Angio Volume: ~500 cases
• Patient Population:
  Adults (18+)
• Call Coverage:
  Shared call expected for incoming physician
• EMR Systems: GEMMS One (clinic), Cerner & Change Healthcare (hospital); transitioning to Epic in March 2026

• MD or DO
• Fellowship-trained in Interventional Cardiology
• Preferably experienced (not a new graduate)
• Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required
• Comfortable with a fast-paced clinic and procedural schedule
