TA Accounting Manager Southern
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support at the local level to facilitate information exchange and delivery of services.Assist in gathering information on the needs of tribal members at the local level and forward this information to Kawerak for inclusion in region‑wide planning efforts.Establish and maintain the local filing system and office procedures.Receive visitors, answer phone calls and disseminate information.Assist with tribal enrollment, financial reports and other reports as necessary.Schedule meetings and conferences for Tribal Council.Record and transcribe minutes for all Tribal Council meetings.Compose letters and routine correspondence, type reports, grants and other documents.Assume responsibility for day‑to‑day office operations for the Tribal Council.Assist tribal members with application forms and information requests at the local level.Ensure Tribal Progeny enrollments are kept up to date and supply Tribal citizens with Tribal Identifications.Adhere to DMV SOPs and maintain an acceptable error rate within DMV standards in the processing of DMV transactions.Read all system messages, including but not limited to USPVS, VLS, SPEXS, and PDPS.Assume primary responsibilities of daily operations of Food Bank operations within the Tribal offices.Work closely with the Tribal Coordinator and attend Tribal Council meetings, including evenings when required.Maintain and order supplies and inventory for the Tribal Office.Perform other duties as assigned by the Tribal Council President.Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.Two years of previous secretarial or administrative experience.>Age at least 18 years and possess a valid Alaska driver’s license or identification card; no current actions against license; good moral character; no felony in last 10 years; no misdemeanor in last 5 years; no convictions for fraudulent activity including embezzlement, theft, forgery, larceny, burglary, falsification or identity theft.Must be able to type; computer experience desirable.Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.Must be able to work well with the public.Ability to obtain a Food Workers Card if required.Native Preference per Public Law 93‑638.
