Position: SOCIAL WORKER with Security Clearance
Location: Eielson Air Force Base

Duties Help Observes and participates in squadron activities in order to identify psychosocial stressors and barriers to optimal human performance. Develops and implements initiatives to mitigate psychosocial stressors and risks and optimize airmen performance. Provides psychological consultation, education, and training to military commanders/senior leaders, other mental health professionals, and medical staff. Conducts psychodiagnostics assessments and provides evidence-based psychotherapy. Requirements Help Conditions of employment

* Direct Deposit:

* At a minimum, qualification requirements stipulated by the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for the 0185 occupational series must be met
* Selective Placement Factor:
Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands
* Practice will require clinical privileges at the host MTF. Must sustain current competency to practice at the independent level. MUST maintain active clinical privileges for the duration of employment
* Must have practiced as an independent licensed clinical social worker within the past two years
* Government civilian providers must meet all applicable credentialing requirements IAW local military treatment facility guidelines and be fully qualified to perform within the scope of their practice
* Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Incumbent may share on-call duty during weeknights and/or weekends on a rotational basis as required consistent with other mental health professionals of the same specialty performing like duties
* This position has been identified as having "regular contact with children". IAW Public Law 101-647
* Superior Qualifications and Leave Accrual incentives will be considered.
* Completion of appropriate clinical and administrative duties may involve "after hours" care or work in addition to regular duties
* This is a Key position.
* This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical
- Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements for 0185 series and Group Standard for Professional & Scientific Positions. BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. You must provide a copy of your transcripts. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes professional knowledge of social work practices, principles, theories, and administrative requirements to be able to apply them in a clinical or occupational setting. Professional knowledge of evidence-based treatments for a full range of psychiatric disorders to plan and provide treatment to patients.

Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association to evaluate psychiatric disorders and apply professional diagnostic skills. Knowledge of military organizations and culture and the unique stressors upon workers in an operational military workplace. Knowledge of administration, scoring, and interpretation of select psychological and psycho-social measures to properly assess patient's and family's needs.

Sophisticated understanding of behavioral risk management and ability to engage appropriate protections as needed when risk of harm to self or others is present. Ability to provide guidance and consultation services to medical professionals and military leaders and facilitate referrals to military or community-based human service agencies and resources, e.g., Protective Services or financial aid organizations.
