Basic Function
Oversee Surimi production to ensure continuous, profitable operations. Follow procedures, policies, and schedules set by management. Maintain safe and uninterrupted production and understand its impact on roe operations. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
Essential Duties- Oversee all Surimi activities, including coaching, evaluating, and managing Surimi Technician staff.
- Ensure Surimi production runs efficiently, meets specifications, and minimizes downtime.
- Advise on ongoing enhancements to production methods and tools to optimize operational efficiency.
- Works with Maintenance supervisors to repair, test, maintain, and adjust Surimi equipment.
- Ensure consistent application of all relevant procedures, formulas, specifications, and quality standards daily, including but not limited to Surimi moisture content, color, impurity levels, infill weights, and gel values, to enhance performance within the assigned area of responsibility. Assume accountability for surimi quality and product integrity during the designated shift.
- Monitor daily production rates and quality to ensure alignment with established targets. When quarterly objectives are not achieved, analyze underlying causes and implement appropriate corrective measures. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all grading and quality specifications relevant to product use by customers. Responsible for assessing and addressing customer complaints.
- Follow standard operating procedures and efficient material use, document production activities, recommend improvements to management, and keep shift leads and managers updated on surimi production and relevant information.
- Anticipate and address challenges to optimize Surimi production efficiency, quality, and product recovery.
- Ensure workplace safety by monitoring equipment use and work habits and staying updated on relevant company safety policies.
- Develop operating guidelines and train support staff in equipment use and surimi processing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have completed Surimi school and be able to present certification upon hire.
- Must be able to successfully complete upon hire and maintain Uni Sea Lock Out/Tag Out and Chemical Safety Training.
- Experience in Surimi quality assurance testing and completion of a supervisory or leadership course is required.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience working in Seafood Processing plants and at least 3 years of direct work experience as a Surimi Technician or Surimi Processor.
- Strong communication skills.

This position is full-time non-exempt position with a salary range of $23.58-$27.11 per hour DOE.
