Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Service Bartender to join our seasonal team at a remote hotel in Glacier Bay, Alaska. Unlike traditional bartending roles, this position focuses on preparing beverages exclusively for restaurant staff and service operations. The Bartender will work behind the scenes to ensure that drinks are consistently crafted, stocked, and ready to support smooth restaurant service in a unique wilderness environment.

Glacier Bay Lodge is a small 50‑room lodge nestled between coastal mountains, incredible fjords, and Alaska's Inside Passage and is a remote wilderness experience you do not want to miss. The only way to travel to us is by air or sea from Juneau to the friendly little town of Gustavus, your gateway to Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve.

Employees are responsible for knowing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of their job position. Job-specific environmental aspects and impacts will be communicated by Department Managers during EMS training.
Job Responsibilities Beverage Preparation- Mix and prepare alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages for restaurant staff to serve guests.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency.
- Support special menu items or seasonal drink offerings.
- Maintain accurate inventory of spirits, mixers, garnishes, and bar supplies.
- Restock and organize beverage storage areas.
- Monitor usage and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Keep beverage preparation areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of alcohol and supplies.
- Adhere to all state and federal alcohol service regulations.
- Work closely with restaurant staff to fulfill drink orders efficiently.
- Assist with training seasonal staff on beverage handling and service protocols.
- Provide reliable support during peak service times.
- Plan ahead for supply needs due to limited access to outside services.
- Adjust to seasonal demand and unique challenges of working in a remote wilderness setting.
- Prior bartending or beverage service experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of drink preparation and mixology basics.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Comfortable living and working in a remote, seasonal environment.
- Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service in Alaska.
