Job Description

This position performs a variety of cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking, or serving duties in a commercial hotel food service area.

• Wash food service area objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc. and place them in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
• Clean, sweep, mop and wipe down all general food service areas and equipment.
• Remove garbage from assigned areas, set up or break down tables, etc.
• May assist cooks or others as needed and coordinate one's own activities with other food service activities and requirements.
• Properly, safely and efficiently prepare food products while following standard food‑handling procedures.
• Assist with various periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
• May maintain a variety of products at certain levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas including service machines.
• May stock storage areas with various products.
• Other duties pertinent to the department or unit's success may also be assigned.

• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Some prior experience or training that demonstrates knowledge of cleaning equipment/processes or a suitability for and interest in this type of work, preferred.
