Cashier – Icy Strait Point – Hoonah, Alaska

Reporting to: Food & Beverage Supervisor

Seasonal – April to Mid‑October (Hoonah, Alaska)

Hourly, with bonus potential.

The basic duties of the Cashier at Icy Strait Point include arriving on time for the scheduled shift in the uniform provided, learning the point‑of‑sale system, learning a basic understanding of the menu at the assigned venue, and managing guest orders in a friendly and courteous manner.

• Collect and process payment; accurately enter and record all menu items into the Point‑of‑Sale system.
• Provide quality beverages and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Function well and calmly in high‑volume activity and stress.
• Willingness to shift to other stations and/or assignments as needed.
• Perform all duties by providing outstanding service efficiently in a professional demeanor.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Commonly includes restaurant background (plus). Ability to be consistent.
• Effective, friendly communication skills with guests, coworkers, and management.
• Team‑oriented.
• Ability to comply with company dress code.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Physical ability to bend, stretch, kneel, squat, lift up to 40 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking over 5 miles a day.
• Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry; able to walk on gravel roads in inclement weather; willing to live in a remote rural community.
