Local Rotational Security Officer - Maniilaq Clinics (Kiana)
The Security Officer provides security for NANA Management Services at Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas. This is a 1 week on/1 week off rotational position, local to the NANA Village. The position may require on‑call work outside of normal business hours.
This position requires a ten consecutive day training program in Kotzebue, AK. Lodging and transportation to and from Kotzebue will be provided.
Responsibilities- Personally monitors assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly, including roving inside facilities and in vehicles.
- Ensures own actions and those of others observe maximum level of safety and compliance.
- Verbal de‑escalates situations to ensure the safety of employees, customers, and clients.
- Examines doors, windows, and other areas to determine they are secure.
- Reports and records data such as property damage and unusual occurrences in accordance with company policies.
- Assists in setting up for events, moving furniture and displays, and preparing the clinic for functions.
- Warns violators of rule infractions and may apprehend or expel violators.
- Notifies on‑site individuals of visitors wishing to see them.
- Assists in responding to emergencies or disasters, including fire safety and active shooter protocols.
- May perform routine input or monitoring of safety and life support computer programs.

- May check heating, lighting, sprinkling, security, ventilation, and fire systems to ensure they are operational.
- May be combined with other position duties.
- Notifies supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.
- Must be able to work on‑call and outside of normal business hours if needed and scheduled in advance.
- Has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Other duties pertinent to the department or unit’s success may be assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must pass a State of Alaska background check and obtain an Alaska Guard License before beginning work.
- Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with employees, customers, and clients.
- Must make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
- Must be on feet for 8‑12 hours per shift.
- Must speak, understand, read, and write English.
- Must be safety‑oriented and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.

Must lift/move up to 50 lb., stand, walk, climb, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed.
