Job Overview Under direction of Facility Supervisor, the Fire Alarm Technician facilitates the repair and maintenance of all fire alarm systems. Provide the daily maintenance operations and activities for all assigned facilities. Receive and evaluate work orders and requests, investigate when appropriate and complete necessary repairs.

Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties &

Job Functions:

* Perform the Fire Alarm duties necessary to maintain all buildings and structures in good repair independently.
* Works with other Technicians to share specialized skills and experience related to fire systems maintenance and repair.
* Performs installations, inspections, periodic tests, maintenance, and repairs installed fire alarm detection and suppression systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and National Fire Protection Association standards.
* Inspects fire alarm equipment visually and replaces defective components.
* Tests initiating and signal circuits, detectors, and system transmitter, and makes needed repairs.
* Checks pressure gauges on suppression system storage containers and recharges or replaces containers.
* Individual must be able to interpret wiring diagrams to locate failures.
* Work involves planning and layout of work from blueprints, drawings, models, along with verbal and written instructions.
* Coordinates with other trade and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies, and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task.
* Inspects and diagnoses system failures to determine corrective action required.
* Helps perform periodic stock inventories and prepare material requisitions for replacement items as required.
* Supports and assists other department staff and trade groups in daily operations as needed or directed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements Mandatory:
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Four (4) years of experience in the fire alarm maintenance and/or electrical field.
* NICET II Certification.
* Demonstrated ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair various fire alarm systems, controls, and equipment, including addressable fire alarm and suppression systems. Due to Government Contractual Requirements, the following are required:
* Ability to successfully pass any employment background check and/or drug testing required on the contract.
* Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level. Preferred:
* Working knowledge of solid-state and conventional control circuitry.
