Under direct supervision, assist in the quick repair of barges inside and/or outside. Responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical regulating and controlling devices, safety, and flow valves. Additional duties may be assigned.

• Basic math, reading comprehension, and writing skills
• Ability to work long hours in any weather, including weekends or holidays
• Dependable and effective time management
• Mechanically inclined; familiar with hand tools and torque wrenches
• Willing to assist in other departments as needed
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Must pass background check and drug screening
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights up to 15 feet
• Experience with bubble leak tests and valve removal/reassembly

• Willingness to learn and follow safety instructions
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions
• Work environment involves exposure to wet conditions, extreme temperatures, mechanical parts, heights, confined spaces, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, radiation, vibration, loud noises, and soiled clothing
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, handle tools, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and smell; frequently lift over 50 pounds; good vision is required
