Codornices Veterinary Clinic is currently looking to hire two Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our team! We are open to experienced RVTs and new graduates!

  • Salary: $27 - 36 per hour, depending on experience, education, licensure, and certifications.
  • Schedule:

    Five 8-hour shifts, Monday – Friday. Open 8am – 5 pm with shifts starting at 7 am. Saturday coverage is not required. Closed on Sunday and all federal holidays.
  • Location:

    944 San Pablo Ave, Albany, CA 94706
  • Benefits:
    Continuing education allowance, license reimbursement, scrub allowance, additional PTO and sick time.
Who You Are:
  • 3+ years’ experience working as a veterinary technician or assistant in a veterinary clinical hospital
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California required – or eligibility to transfer/acquire state licensure within 3 months of hire
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Compassionate and calm demeanor with animals and clients
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint;
    Fear-Free and low stress handling preferred
  • Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
  • Strong pharmacology knowledge including dosages, routes, side effects and proper administration
  • Ability to perform complete dental prophylaxis with radiographs
  • Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
  • General nursing care including fluid therapy, vital monitoring, pain assessment and management
  • Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation;
    Idexx laboratory equipment
  • Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
  • Educating clients on animal care, medications, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to handle stressful or emotional situations professionally
  • Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members
  • Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
  • And all other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law.
